Eight

With the busy month of August brought our eight year anniversary.  Without trying to sound too pessimistic, our anniversary pretty much came and went without too much celebration.  That's just how August is.  Both Rob and I have been so busy, it was a matter of sandwiching the day between three football games.  However, that is pretty much how we started our life, sandwiching our wedding into a time before all of our kids started school. That is just how our life is right now.  I was actually pretty bummed that neither of us took enough thought to plan something a little more out of the ordinary but we did have a romantic dinner and were able to at least get out.

As the month went on, I realized that Rob and I actually got to spend a lot of time together doing some really great things and it put things into perspective for me.  Rob is my best friend.  We do everything together....even run now! There is no one in the world I would rather be with, talk to, laugh with, or cry with.  There is no one in the world that I feel could understand me quite like he does.  Raising our family together and experiencing life together is the best because we have each other.

This month we trained and ran two races together.  A half marathon, and a really fun mud run.  We also were also able to volunteer together at the open house of our temple.  We had so much fun being together during these times....especially being at the temple.  We spent several hours serving together and commented after it was all over how great it will be to serve a mission together.

Yes eight has come and gone but life is great (and I planted the seed to take a fun beach vacation for our ten year anniversary:)
