I feel like we really only get two months of summer because once August hits it means football EVERY SINGLE DAY (except Sunday of course). It also means getting kids ready to go back to school and this year has meant the open house for our temple! We were able to go through with our family and some friends the other day and I couldn't help but think how amazing that would be to be there all together as a family someday as Porter gets ready for his mission. That would be a huge parent pay day.
You can tell how much some of my kids love getting their picture taken. They'll be glad someday. What a crew. I'm so proud of these kids!
The above picture of Megan needs to be framed and put in her room. I randomly took that picture of her looking up at the temple. So sweet! I told her that someday she might get married in this temple! Wow if that doesn't bring the tears...I can't even think about that one!
Brandon let Porter play in the fountain and boy did he love that. He was ready to jump right in! He was kicking those legs and making quite the splash.
Then the first day of school came. I always feel a little sad when they all leave. I really love having them around. Brandon is a Senior this year....that just doesn't seem possible. Matt and Emily started ninth grade and James started eighth. Those three are all in the same school. Riley started a new school and 6th grade. He takes the bus now and things are different but he's adjusted well. Jacob is in 5th grade....last year in elementary and Megan in 4th.
These two are my buds that get to stay home with Mom. It still keeps me plenty busy but hopefully I will be able to get a few projects done???? We'll see.
