Weekend Fun

Saturday was one of those fall days that you just never want to end. It was sunny and warm but not too hot. The leaves were in full color and we spent the whole day outside. My pictures are out of order but this was on our four-wheeling ride that we took on Saturday....so fun.
Brandon turned seventeen this weekend. He's a man-child for sure and a fine one at that. Yes he's a teenager which brings with it it's own frustrations but he's a good kid and I find myself thinking about how he will only be with us for two more years and then he's off to find his own adventures.

Right now he is a junior in high school and is playing football. That has had it's up and downs this year but he is playing more which makes it so much more fun to watch and so much more fun for him to play.

For his birthday date we grabbed some sandwiches and headed up the mountain to shoot guns. We did this last year too, and it actually is pretty fun. Of course being pregnant just makes it look that much cooler. I have no clue what I'm doing and it shows.

Brandon doesn't like to pose for pictures. It's really hard to capture a smile with teeth. I think he had a good day but he looks pretty miserable for it being his birthday.
These were some of the targets we shot at and I got twenty points by shooting two. I wasn't huge competition for Rob and Brandon who both made it past 100 points.
It was a beautiful fall day. I decided right then and there that fall just might be my favorite season. (I know...don't tell summer).

Oh yes, and because my pictures are posting all over the place and I have no idea why, this is my shot...I know....pretty impressive for a pregnant girl.
O.k so this is not Brandon's date because he would want to crawl under a rock if we did anything like this in front of him. We actually dropped Brandon off and went with Janzen and Jen four-wheeling. I was insistent on our traditional "kissing" picture and I really did try and take it serious this time because I usually end up laughing and making it look goofy.

It was a beautiful ride and the only thing that would have made it better was not being pregnant. It was so very bumpy and I felt every little rock. After shooting guns and four-wheeling I'm sure our baby was wondering what the heck was going on. It took me two days to recover!
And of course there is nothing like being with my best friend and spending time together. I honestly don't think we would have any kind of a marriage if we didn't take time each week to pull ourselves away from our busy lives and take time for each other. We both know how important this is and I look forward to being with him and having non interrupted conversations. It's our time to slow down and be together. I love it and I love him!
