Our August

The last month of summer....sigh. I do love this season, however it's been a rough one for me so I'm not sorry to say good-bye. I know. That is so not like me but I was definitely ready to get back into a routine. The kids seemed to be getting bored too. We did fit in one last boating trip with some friends which was fun.

Rob and I celebrated our 7th year anniversary. I love him more each year and I am so grateful to have him in my life. I was actually not feeling very well so we celebrated low key with dinner and a movie.

Rob signed up for a triathlon with these people from work. He trained really hard and did great. It was really weird for me to be the one on the side lines this time around and I am ashamed to say that I was not nearly as supportive of him as he has been with me in my past marathons. Probably because I started to get all panicky. If he loves this, then it might mean I might not be able to do what I love too! After all, we can't both be gone training for races. I know. I'm selfish. I really wanted to do this with him but being pregnant makes it hard to participate in these events.
It was fun to see all the athletes compete. Watching this triathlon made me not so afraid to try one sometime. Except the swimming....I could possibly drowned during the swimming.

Rob didn't want me to post this but too bad. I had to get the full effect of the whole race.
Our anniversary again. I can never keep a straight face while doing the kissing picture...especially when I have a crew of kids making gross noises in the background and Emily trying to close her eyes while she takes the picture.
I'm so proud of my cute hubby. He really took this race seriously and worked really hard. Even though I was a tiny bit jealous I am also grateful that he is doing things to keep himself healthy. He felt really good during the bike and run and said he was even passing people....nice!

Wife bragging time. Ooh la la, what a babelicious morsel. Seriously, I have a dang hot husband (he'll be so excited that I put that on my blog too!)

Also in August we got all the kids registered and clothed for a new school year. I sure heard a lot of complaining about it (starting school again). I now have kids in four different schools coming and going at four different times. Emily and Matt just started a new school.....8th grade! They've adjusted great but I'm still trying to adjust to the fact that they are growing up!
These are my elementary school kids. Riley is in 5th, Jacob 4th, and Megan 3rd. Luckily they all seem to have good teachers.
And this guy is a junior in high school. I know huh? How did that happen? He's a man child now. I hear him talking from the other room and I have to stop and decide if it is Rob that I hear or Brandon. He's involved in football again this year and loving it.
And last but certainly not least is our easy going James who started 7th grade this year. I don't get much information in the school department from him but he seems to like it (at least being with the friends).

And speaking of James, one more thing that happened this August is we found out we are adding another brother in January (the due date being on James birthday). There is a lot to say about this but I'll save that for a later time. Needless to say, that is why my summer was so crappy and why I've let a lot of things go in my life. I've been SO sick and SO tired and felt like surviving each day would be a major accomplishment....which it has. I'm more that half way through and everything checks out great with the little guy so that is a blessing. Another chapter in our lives about to unfold.....name suggestions anyone? I think we've about used all the boy names up!
