Catch Up

The month of October was once again full of activity at our house. Football games, basketball games, volleyball games, and of course the wonderful holiday of Halloween (notice sarcasm). Actually, I don't dread Halloween quite like I used to. It's still work, but the kids are older which makes it a lot easier. We did all the activities from frosting cookies (thanks to my Mom) to carving pumpkins, to my personal favorite....cockroaches in the soup.

My Dad loves to torture our dog Maggy. That black blob is her trying to get a ball out of the tree that is just out of reach.
Rob and the boys were able to take a Saturday and go deer hunting together. I guess it was a lot of hiking, and not a lot of hunting but it is good for them to have this time together.

Ammon wore three different costumes this year. He started out as Batman for our ward Halloween party but then decided that it bugged him. So, we changed to Woody for that night. For Halloween he was actually Buzz. Good thing we have options for an indecisive three year old.

Riley gets costume of the year at our house. He dressed up as Rob, which I thought was so very funny. I had fun making his hair and eyebrows dark. No one recognized him at the party and he got the prize for best look a like.
As for me I dressed the not yet born little guy as a Halloween pumpkin. There has to be some sort of pleasure that goes along with pregnancy and I really have had to dig deep for what that is.

O.K. so the kids totally expect something to be in their food for our Halloween dinner, but it gives me a little thrill to do anyway, so the tradition lives on.

I put extra in Matt's per Emily's suggestion and it worked nicely. I got just the reaction I was hoping for.

Halloween night Rob and I took the younger ones trick or treating while the big kids stayed home and passed out candy. Emily was a little more than upset that she couldn't go....hello fourteen year old! I hate it when big kids come to our house to mooch all of our candy so I'm not about to let my older kids do it to others.

Another exciting October happening is we got our Nauvoo Grandparents back. Now Ammon has the privilege of going to "Grandma School" which he loves.
Another October come and gone and we are quickly working on November. Time seems to go so quickly and yet some days so slowly (only because I'm pregnant and miserable.) These are good times though and I sure do love my family.
